At Bharathi Playschool, we believe that some of the most important lessons begin with simple everyday habits. Our recent Hand Wash Day activity was a fun and engaging way for our little learners to understand why keeping their hands clean is an important part of staying healthy.
Through a colourful and interactive classroom activity, our children learned when and why they should wash their hands, turning an essential hygiene habit into an enjoyable learning experience.
🧼 When Should Children Wash Their Hands?
Our little learners explored some important moments when handwashing should become a habit:
- Before and after eating 🍎
- After using the restroom 🚻
- After coughing or blowing their nose 🤧
- After touching pets or animals 🐾
- After playing outdoors 🌳
These simple habits can help children understand personal hygiene from an early age. UNICEF highlights hand hygiene as an important part of protecting children from illness and creating healthier learning environments.
💧 Learning Through Activity
Instead of simply telling children about cleanliness, our teachers encouraged them to see, discuss and practise good handwashing habits.
The activity introduced children to the role of water, soap and clean hands, while colourful illustrations and hands-on demonstrations helped make the lesson easy for young minds to understand.
For preschoolers, learning through practical activities makes everyday concepts more memorable and meaningful.
